Charlatte Model CBL100E battery powered belt loader has been designed primarily to service the commuter and regional operators with the introduction of small jet aircraft into their fleets. The unit is designed to withstand the severe operational requirements encountered in today's airline ramp environment, and its size and mobility allow it to serve several aircraft parked in a confined area. The design is also beneficial in that it keeps tractors and baggage carts further away from the regional type aircraft.

The unit is fully mobile and capable of servicing all types of aircraft with door sill heights ranging from 28 inches (71.1 cm) up to 90 inches (228.6 cm). The unit has a top running speed of 15 mph (24 km/h) on flat ground, but can be adjusted to match customer specifications. A unique feature of the vehicle is the "creep" mode, which allows the vehicle to approach the aircraft at a regulated speed and is adjustable from 0.5 to 3 mph (0.8 - 4.8 km/h). The operators compartment contains all the controls and indicators necessary to drive the unit, and to raise and lower the belt boom. The belt drive is powered by an electric motor directly coupled to the drive roller eliminating the need for sprockets and chains. Belt controls for the belt direction and speed, as well as emergency stop buttons are located on the left side of the boom, both front and rear. Three belt speeds can be selected: slow, medium, and fast. The unit comes equipped with an on-board charger and battery pack, including a weatherproof retractable cable reel for charging, which allows the unit to be plugged into any standard AC outlet.
